Qatar News Agency (QNA) has launched a new application for Android devices in the framework of the continuous development of its services to reach the largest number of users. Director of Technical Affairs Department in QNA Eng. Khalid al-Mutawaa said that the application was launched on the “Google Play” store in order to reach the increasing users of Android devices. He noted that the application runs on Android tablets (7 and 10 inches) as well as Android phones. The application supports Arabic and English languages, and offers QNA news classified into political, economic, cultural and sports. It also provides news pictures and video clips of the most important news, and special sections for subscribers include PDF documents. The users can also share news via e-mails and the social networks Facebook and Twitter. The application also offers live broadcast of some local TV channels. Qatar News Agency already has QNA news application on Apple iPhone and iPad devices. Eng. al-Mutawaa said that the new service comes as part of QNA efforts to take advantage of technological progress and development to reach the largest number of users, adding that QNA are going to offer more sophisticated services in the future.
