The Kingdom of Bahrain's Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA) will organise the Child Internet Safety Orientation "SafeSurf" Programme termed "The Challenge" on November 20.
Organised in collaboration between the TRA and the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the General Organisation for Youth and Sport (GOYS), the event coincides with the International Child's Day (November 20) celebratred by the UNGA for the first time in 1954. Also, on November 20, 1958, the UNGA adopted the Universal Child Rights Declaration.
The Cyber Security Division at the TRA is responsible for SafeSurf with focus on orientation of parents and children on the subject of child internet safety.
The Director of Cybersecurity Dr. Khalid bin Duaij Al Khalifa said that every citizen in Bahrain is considered an ambassador for his country and every adult should assume responsibility of children's protection as wonderfully useful browsing might turn into a risky activity, urging collective work to increase children's awareness and parental guidance.
