Hannibal executive producer Bryan Fuller says neither Netflix nor Amazon is interested in continuing the canceled, psychological drama series after it ends its third season on NBC.
The broadcast network announced last month it would not order a fourth season of the show adapted from Thomas Harris' best-selling books.
Low ratings were cited as the reason for the decision to cancel the show, which stars Mads Mikkelsen as the brilliant serial killer Hannibal Lecter and Hugh Dancy as Will Graham, the troubled FBI agent who first befriends, then tries to catch Lecter.
Series producers quelled the disappointment of the show's loyal "fannibals" by saying they would shop Hannibal around to other networks in an effort to win subsequent seasons.
While Fuller revealed Monday that Netflix and Amazon had passed on the show, he said he hasn't yet given up hope for a fourth season.
"I'M SORRY TO REPORT @amazon AND @netflix HAVE PASSED ON #HANNIBAL S4 BUT WE'RE STILL INVESTIGATING POSSIBILITIES," Fuller tweeted in response to a fan's inquiry about the show's future.
