LoveFilm has struck a deal with Disney-owned US TV network ABC for the rights to stream shows including Lost and Grey's Anatomy. Amazon-owned Lovefilm has struck a deal with Disney to launch ABC's TV On Demand service as part of its UK video streaming business. The deal, which is non-exclusive, will see shows including Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters and Castle available on LoveFilm. Disney has already struck deals with BT Vision and TalkTalk's TV service to make ABC's on-demand programming available to UK consumers. Under the deal, LoveFilm will not air any shows until after their first run on pay or free-to-air TV in the UK. LoveFilm recently launched a streaming-only package for customers – previously, subscriptions had to be tied to DVD-by-post offers – in a bid to take on US rival Netflix, which launched in the UK on 9 January. • To contact the MediaGuardian news desk email editor@mediaguardian.co.uk or phone 020 3353 3857.
