Tuition fees in all Indian schools in Oman will go up with immediate effect after the hike — between RO1 and RO7 a month — has been given the go-ahead by the apex body that governs all Indian schools in the sultanate. The Board of Directors for Indian Schools in Oman said the increase was in the wake of requests from the schools. Addressing a news conference here on Sunday, board Chairman Tony Alexander said the raise in fees was necessitated by higher operational costs. He noted that salaries of teachers and non-teaching staff had to be revised owing to the higher cost of living.
