Iranian researchers designed an anti-piracy system mounted on 60 local ships in a bid to make their presence in the high seas more safe and secure.
Director of the project Habib Behdasht said the system is working with high voltage. Aluminum cables are installed around the vessels. The system keeps the pirates away by electric shock when they approach the vessel, the Iranian students' new agency reported.
The system includes three parts of cable control, a convertor and a high voltage system. The system does not make any damage to vessel equipment and crew and would lead to more secure presence of Iranian vessels in high seas.
