Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education (MoE) Ali Mehad Seweedi announced on Tuesday that the ministry has approved the first batch of 118 new Emirati teachers, who will start work from the next academic year, 2011-2012. The MoE has appointed these teachers in the first batch, while approval for the remaining batches and for other citizens and residents are still in progress. He noted that all of the newly appointed teachers, whether citizens or residents, will be subject to a compulsory training programme.If any of the new teachers fail to attend the programme, his/her appointment will be terminated.
