Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) has been ranked among the top 200 Asian universities by the 2011 QS World University Rankings recently, said Ministry of Higher Education secretary-general Datuk Abdul Rahim Mohd Noor, here today. "To become a 'golden' university, Unimas must have the best academics, intellectuals and scholars to produce first class graduates," he said at a ceremony to hand over the keys to the new Tun Abdul Rahman Putra hall at the university's West Campus here today. He said Unimas, which is 19 years old, achieved the placement after it received several international research awards in various fields. He said the university must attract more foreign students by collaborating with universities abroad, to raise the standard of its education. He said the institution should also excel in research and development and provide the service and facilities to match its current expertise and technolgy.
