Winners of the Aanaab Educational Platform contest were announced recently during a ceremony at the Riyadh Marriott Hotel.
The event was attended by representatives from the education sector along with guests and members of the press.
Aanaab was launched six months ago to provide a mechanism to “circle and distribute resources among teachers to improve the learning process, providing different learning experiences for hundreds of thousands of Arab students, in addition to providing an additional source of income …”
Fatima Al-Ghobari, a Saudi mathematics teacher from Najran, won a Chevrolet Spark 2017 as the grand prize, while Etab Amouri and Nour Al-Sawadi received SR5,000 each as second and third prizes, respectively.
Amouri lives in Dubai while Al-Sawadi lives in Jeddah.
Monira Jamjoom, Aanaab Educational Platform co-founder, said the e-commerce platform (Aanaab.com) was launched six months ago to create educational content to share with teachers.
She added that teachers can also share and sell their content in Arabic through the e-commerce platform to augment their income.
Jamjoom said teachers upload worksheets for homework, videos and PowerPoint presentations on the platform for students to learn.
“All I request is for the teachers to create high quality content and upload on the e-commerce platform,” she said.
The platform, which was launched by Emkan Education Company (EEC), is the first of its kind, selling and sharing learning resources in the Arab world.
The contest was held within the framework of cooperation between Aljomaih Automotive Company (AAC), which sponsored the contest, and ECC.
Mosaed Aljomaih, assistant chief of operation in Riyadh, underlined the importance of the Aanaab Educational Platform project for the future of educational development in Saudi Arabia and the Arab world and its lead role in empowering teachers.
He assured AAC’s keen interest in all educational initiatives that are in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.
