The Arab League (AL) Sunday warned of the deterioration of the educational process in the Palestinian territories due to the Israeli practices aiming to obliterate the Arab identity of the East Jerusalem.
Speaking at the inauguration of the 72nd session of the Educational Affairs Council For Palestinian people, Arab League Assistant Secretary General for Palestine Affairs Mohamed Sobeih called for providing Arab support necessary for enhancing the educational process there and helping Palestinian students to continue their education to face the Israeli occupation.
Sobeih raised the alarm over Israeli practices and attempts aiming to impose Israeli curricula on the educational institutions in the occupied East Jerusalem to obliterate the Arab identity and integrate the residents of Al Quds into the Israeli society.
He noted that the Palestinian people are suffering from harsh conditions and situation at all levels within the framework of the ongoing Israeli violations represented in seizing and encroaching on the Palestinian soils, the apartheid wall in the West Bank, Judaization attempts in the East Jerusalem and assault on the sacred places.
