His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Thai Ambassador to Bahrain Vichai Varasirikul, who introduced to him a number of Muslim Thai university students who are studying in Bahrain.
HRH Premier affirmed the government's keenness to enhance cooperation with all countries, including Thailand, in various fields, particularly education.
HRH the Prime Minister underscored the importance of promoting dialogue among civilisations and deepening relations among all peoples.
He stressed that the Thai students' desire to study in Bahrain was within the framework of the outstanding bilateral ties, and the agreements signed between the two countries, on the one hand, and a result of the prestigious reputation enjoyed by Bahraini universities, especially the national ones, on the other.
The Thai Ambassador lauded the crucial role played by HRH Premier in boosting bilateral relations, and providing an opportunity for Thai students to benefit from the kingdom's educational progress.
The Thai students expressed utmost thanks and appreciation to HRH the Prime Minister for the constant keenness of the government, under his leadership, to support the education field and provide a positive educational atmosphere, which, they said, has encouraged them to join the University of Bahrain.
