The cabinet discussed in its meeting held under Prime Minister Sherif Ismail a report presented by education minister on the new academic year and efforts exerted to develop governmental schools.
About 95 percent of 51.000 schools were maintained, the minister said.
The minister also underlined that he held a get-together with heads of the educational directorates where he stressed on the importance of the educational role played by schools.
He underscored on the need of paying field visits to schools by the officials.
Meanwhile, the higher education minister said that the academic year has begun in 23 governmental universities.
The youth minister said that the sport utilities affiliated to the ministry will be prepared for receiving students to practise cultural and sport activities in it.
