A security source announced today that the Associate Dean of the Shatt al-Arab college, Dr. Mahmoud Jassim Mohammed was released from the grip of his captors.
The source also confirmed the release of Dr. Abdul Hamid Nfawh who works in the teaching hospital in Basra by the gang that kidnapped him after tightening the noose on the kidnappers.
He noted that the release of the abductees has done with cooperation between the security forces and tribesmen in north of Basra.
The two men released were kidnapped last Thursday by unidentified armed elements.
It is mentioned that a security source announced that the Kurdish businesswoman, Sarah Hamid Miran kidnapped two days ago was released yesterday for ransom worth 200 000 dollars.
