Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Noaimi has paid a visit to the construction site of Jaw Comprehensive Model School for Girls in the Southern Governorate.

The minister said it is the first government school of its kind in Bahrain. It comprises the three educational stages in one location, elementary, preparatory and secondary, taking into consideration the individuality of each stage.

He elaborated the school is scheduled to be open next academic year, it consists of five buildings containing 48 classrooms to accommodate approximately 1,700 students. It also has four advanced scientific laboratories, two designing and planning laboratories, three family education centers, sport halls, a sewing workshop, two advanced learning resource centers, two art workshops, English language laboratory, an innovation center, administrative and educational facilities. It will be equipped with central air conditioning and enjoys future expansion capability.

The minister said the new under construction educational project falls within the Government Action Plan to establish 10 new schools between 2015-2018 in conformity with the latest educational standards and environmentally friendly and energy-saving characteristics. Adding the project reflects the leadership’s support for the development of the educational process.
