Fifteen researchers from 10 Arab countries received His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Scientific Research Award. The contest started Wednesday at the University of Jordan and supported by His Highness the Amir to encourage scientific research and Arab researchers. The ceremony was held last night under the auspices of Kuwait's Ambassador here Dr. Hamad Al-Duaij and Rector of the University of Jordan Professor Ekhleif Tarawneh. Al-Duaij told KUNA the award was continuation of the Kuwait leadership's approach towards supporting and encouraging scientists. He stressed the significance of the award in boosting the morals and expertise of Arab researchers and to enrich Arab culture and heritage with new developments. "The award is for outstanding researchers, whose works added new knowledge that serves the society," Tarawneh told KUNA. "It shows Kuwait's interest in supporting science and culture in the Arab World".
