The upcoming 7th International Invention Fair of the Middle East (IIFME), to kick off here tomorrow, attracts wide regional and international interest as a unique Kuwaiti scientific event in the Arab world, an official stated Monday.
The fair is to be held under the auspices of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in presence of Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.
The World's interest in the fair, which is organized by Kuwait Science Club (KSC), adds another responsibility on the Club's shoulders in highlighting the latest in science and attaining consecutive successes, Eyad Al-Kharafi, KSC Chairman and Head of the Organizing Committee, told KUNA.
Organizing the fair for the seventh time reflects Kuwait's keenness on pushing the creativity wheel forward and attracting investors and companies to be acquainted with latest scientific accomplishments that have been industrially adopted into a tangible reality, added Al-Kharafi.
This year, over 150 inventors from 25 countries from the four corners of the globe are partaking to display their new inventions, he said, adding that KSC has also invited over 275 state and public bodies around the world to participate at the Fair, including the UN's World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, and the Patent Office of the GCC States.
Invitations were also sent to Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), Kuwait University (KU), the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training colleges (PAAET), Sabah Al Ahmed Center for Giftedness and Creativity, private colleges, and several educational, scientific, research, governmental, and private bodies to take part at the fair, Al-Kharafi noted.
He also said this international scientific event represents a significant aspect of the implemented achievements by KSC and the sponsoring authorities for this exhibition.
"It is a great time to promote inventions, increase interest, appreciate the ideas and make an investment in the ideas and inventions as well as people," Al-Kharafi indicated.
