Dean of Diplomatic Corps, Kuwaiti Ambassador in London Khaled Al-Duwaisan has been offered the 3rd Annual Grassroot Diplomat Initiative Award.
In a ceremony held Friday night in London, Diplomatic consultancy Grassroot Diplomat announced the list of its annual awards honoring excellent foreign diplomats in the British capital.
Al-Duwaisan was offered the Award in recognition of his work in fighting religious extremism, enhancing inter-faith dialogue and promoting a culture of toleration and respect of the other, Grassroot Diplomat said in a statement. He also supports peaceful co-existence among followers of different faiths.
It pointed to his persistent activities in the diplomatic circles and his contributions to social events in London. It said Al-Duwaisan enjoys respect of the Diplomatic Corps and the British government.
Addressing the ceremony, Al-Duwaisan expressed gratitude to members of the Diplomatic Corps in Britain, and the Grassroot Diplomat for the award.
Awards were also offered to African, Asian and American diplomats for their efforts to promote cooperation and understanding between their nations and the UK.
Grassroot Diplomat is a non-profit diplomatic consultancy with the mission to facilitate trust and better communication between governments and civil society.
As an independent agency, Grassroot Diplomat shows no allegiance to a solitary government but acts in the interest of the people, no matter where they are or what state their country. This is done through developing, strengthening, and facilitating relationships between governments and civil society stakeholders on a project-by-project basis.
