The leadership of Kuwait is keen on advancement of scientific research due to its importance for the future development of the country, said Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Ahmad Al-Mulaifi here Sunday. Al-Mulaifi's statement came during Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research's (KISR) excellence awards of 2013-14 which was held under the auspices of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Delivering a speech on the behalf of His Highness Sheikh Nawaf, Al-Mulaifi said that His Highness' sponsorship of the event since its inception five years ago reflected the leadership's keenness on the development of scientific research. The KISR has always been a beacon of the advancement of scientific research in Kuwait and accordingly this event is held to honor those working hard for within this domain. On his part, KISR's Director General Dr. Naji Al-Mutairi expressed his gratitude towards the outstanding employees at the institute, saying that their job was well appreciated. The KISR had provided assistance and expertize to numerous projects within sectors such as petroleum, agriculture, renewable energy, infrastructure and others, said Al-Mutairi, adding that the institute would continue its mission to provide vital scientific inputs. Speaking on part of the honorees, head of development and protection of human resources at KISR Mohammad Al-Sanefi thanked the Kuwaiti leadership and KISR's administration for their continuous support for scientific research in Kuwait. He said that KISR affiliates will continue to persevere in their quest for the development of science in Kuwait
