Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education Maryam Al-Wutaid said Monday the Civil Service Commission (CSC) agreed to extend from one to three years the employment of illegal residents' teachers.
"The Ministry might request another extension for such segment of teachers if need be to fill the gap in employment," she told reporters.
"During its meeting, the CSC's board also approved an additional remuneration, equivalent of three months' pay, for all teachers from the illegal residents category; it will be paid at the end of each semester," Al-Wutaid revealed.
Hailing the decision, effective as of fiscal year 2014-15, she said it aims to treat this segment of teachers on equal footing with other expatriate teachers.
