The Ministry of Education has included the book "Mother of the Nation Fatima Bint Mubarak: Principles and Accomplishments" in the curriculum for ninth grade students.
The book sheds light on the life of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.
"Mother of the Nation," which has nine chapters, is an interactive book on the lectures and vision of Sheikha Fatima, a key leader of the women's movement in the UAE. It is part of the ministry’s plan to develop the school curricula in compliance with the developments taking place in the modern world.
The book, authored by Dr. Maytha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State, is an important documentation on Sheikha Fatima, her noble principles, determination and achievements in the field of women’s empowerment.
Highlighting the role of the UAE’s leaders, Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, revealed that they had set an example through their loyalty and devotion for the sake of the country's development and prosperity. Hence, the ministry decided to emphasise the UAE's symbols and feature important phases of the nation's journey in the school curricula.
The book on Sheikha Fatima was selected, as it represented the country's values, its morals and traditions, Al Hammadi explained, stressing that Sheikha Fatima is considered an inspiration for the future generations
