New school year to kick off September 23

A meeting of the supreme council of pre-university education decided Saturday that the 2017-2018 school year would start on September 23, the spokesman for the Education Ministry Ahmed Khairy said in a statement.
The meeting, chaired by Education Minister Tarek Shawqy, was meant to approve the schedule for the coming school year.
