H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on Sunday officially opened the new building of the Union of Scientific and Arab Language Academies in the 6th of October City, Giza Governorate.
In his remarks at the opening ceremony, H.H. Sheikh Sultan described the union as a lighthouse for "preserving Arabic, correcting concepts" that we should support.
He added that all Arabic academies in the Arab Nation should likewise be supported.
"The Union cannot act single-handedly and without being backed by decisions that can change the reality of this nation. There must be a proactive action to support the language, decisions, thought and knowledge of Arabs. Through ministries of information, education and higher education, governments should correct some conceptions and restore the rich history of Arabic."
H.H. Sheikh Sultan also pledged to support the Union and work with others to help achieve its noble goal.
The two-storey building features a library, meeting rooms, offices as well as rooms for researchers.
Senior Egyptian officials and scholars attended the opening ceremony.
