Head of the education directorate in Sohag Abdel-Aziz Attia asserted Saturday that the school meals provided to the students of Bani Ammar primary school were edible and ate a meal before the students in Bani Ammar Primary School.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that 40 pupils of a school in Sohag, Upper Egypt, suffered vomiting, stomach ache and fatigue and were rushed to hospital after eating biscuits provided by the school.
The education ministry, in coordination with education directorate in Sohag, took all measures to ensure the safety of students and edibility of the school meals, Attia added.
