While education fees may hold back the progress of financially incapable learners, the Dar Al Ber Society robustly chips in this critical sector with local contribution that exceeded AED 100 million over the last ten years.
Chairman of Dar Al Ber Society Khalfan Khalifa Al Mazrouie said education is undoubtedly an inevitable asset for the progress and development of any nation without which individuals may not have a chance to mentally grow and hence fall prey to depression and deviation.
"This is not the case here in the UAE where this vital education sector is financially supported to encourage poor and low-income students complete their academic study," he noted.
''The Dar Al Ber Society, run by Dubai Government, is one of the leading charity association operatiing in the country that spares no effort to provide the education support needed for all learners,'' he added.
"We always give a hand to school and university students, and learners of religious sciences, and print the books and theses approved by a specialized scientific committee in the Culture and Studies Sector of the Dar Al Ber Society in line with the true, tolerant and moderate concepts of Islam." Al Mazrouie stated that the Society held numerous scientific courses, and sponsored lots of cultural exhibitions and conferences in the UAE, such as the Hadith Sciences Forum.
"We also buy the scientific books needed for incapable students, contribute some others to public libraries, and provide poor students, as well as schools and centres with educational aids, including school tools, stationery, computer devices, and air conditioners." Dar Al Ber Society has also honoured hundreds of excellent students, chipped in graduation ceremonies, organised school competitions and Umrah trips for brilliant learners, and held distant examinations at its headquarters on the Sheikh Zayed Road to make things easier for learners as is the case with the City International University, he elaborated. "The Dar Al Ber contribution to the educational sector in the UAE exceeded Dh100 million over the last ten years." The Zakat and Seasonal Projects Department under the Dar Al Ber Society subjects all the financial assistance extended to strict, precise, and transparent administrative procedures to make sure that only the eligible beneficiaries are supported, he indicated.
"This kind of maintenance clearly embodies the principles of solidarity and humanitarian values affirmed in Islam and imbued in the Emirati society under the UAE prudent and generous leadership." Reiterating the same, Abdullah Ali bin Zayed, the Executive Director of Dar Al Ber Society, said all the philanthropic activities targeting poor and low-income learners would not have been possible without the tireless support of partner contributors whom he thanked for their commitment.
