Yemen requested Russia on Sunday to raise scholarships granted to the Yemeni students from 101 to 202 seats annually.
The request was handed over by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Hisham Sharaf to Russian ambassador to Yemen Vladimir Didohchin during a meeting in Sana'a.
The Minister valued highly the cooperation of the Russia, which has recently completed the acceptance procedures of 101 Yemeni undergraduate and postgraduate students within the exchange student program for the academic year 2014-2015 in various disciplines.
For his part, Didohchin assured Russia's continuous support to Yemen, particularly to realize the national reconciliation based on the Gulf-brokered deal and outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC), which will achieve security, stability and comprehensive development of Yemen.
