London - Arabstoday

BookheadEd Learning, LLC, publisher of StudySync (www.studysync.com), the web-based collaborative curriculum, announced today that the product has received ComputED Gazette's Best Educational Software (BESSIE) Award in the "Internet Tools Website" and 'Language Arts/Integrated Learning Website" categories. The Awards target innovative and content-rich programs and websites that provide parents and teachers with the technology to foster educational excellence. Winners are selected from titles submitted by publishers around the world. For StudySync, the honor is the third this spring. In March, the product was named a Finalist in the 2012 SIIA CODiE Awards, in the "Best K-12 Instructional Solution" category, followed by "Trendsetter" recognition from EdTech Digest in early April. "BookheadEd Learning's StudySync platform is the best of both worlds - utterly modern in its embrace of technology that engages students, while exposing those students to classic texts and inspiring in them a genuine passion for social learning," said Marie A. Karr, Editor, ComputED Gazette. "In our view, the product embodies so much of what educational software needs to be." "Our StudySync team of academics and designers are honored by the recognition of ComputED Gazette for bestowing two of their esteemed Bessie Awards on StudySync," said Robert Romano, BookheadEd Learning CEO. "Our mission has been to provide students with a compelling dynamic web experience and teachers with tools and a curriculum designed to support their classroom efforts in creative thinking, reading, and writing. The award announcement is a special acknowledgement of both, which is greatly appreciated." An innovative, webdelivered academic tool, StudySync was created by leading national educators with the goal of inspiring higher levels of critical thinking and academic collaboration. Aligned to the Common Core State Standards, StudySync targets middle and high school students, enlisting broadcast-quality video, digital media, mobile platforms and social learning to advance students' reading, writing and critical thinking abilities. Flexible and easytonavigate, StudySync places control fully in the hands of the educator, enabling teachers to integrate the product into their current classroom curriculum any way they see fit. Teachers can, for example, customize the experience by using StudySync lessons in sequence as a complete unit or assigning individual components to supplement existing lesson plans; the teacher can track progress and make assessments at any time. StudySync is also intended to be used across disciplines - for language arts classrooms and for science, social studies, history and other subject areas as well.
