Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc was decorated with an honorary doctorate by International Black Sea University in Georgia on Friday. Arinc, together with Turkish Ambassador in Tbilisi Levent Murat Burhan, Anadolu Agency Director General Kemal Ozturk, TRT Director General Ibrahim Sahin and several other officials, visited the university. Rector Prof. Sevket Ercan Tunc said that they decorated Arinc with an honorary doctorate thanks to his support to Turkish-Georgian relations and education institutions. Arinc said that Turkish-Georgian trade volume was 1.5 billion USD, adding that Turkish businessmen would make more investments in Georgia. There are very important projects to be implemented, said Arinc, adding that some of them were Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum Natural Gas Pipeline, and Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway. Later in the day, Arinc will proceed to Batumi to visit mufti's office, and meet Deputy Prime Minister Giorgi Baramidze. Arinc will meet Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, and attend a dinner which will be hosted by Georgian Deputy Prime Minister Baramidze in his honor.
