Hungary's Corvinus University has awarded Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi an honorary doctorate.
This came in a ceremony attended by many Hungarian university professors, academics, intellectuals and scientists Friday.
Delivering a speech on the occasion, the president of the university said that they honored the Egyptian leader for his strenuous efforts to achieve prosperity and progress in the scientific,cultural and economic fields in Egypt.
Sisi's award is the first to be given by the university to a foreign leader, he asserted.
For his part, Sisi asserted that the award sends a clear message about strong relations binding Egypt and Hungary in the scientific arena.
Also, the Egyptian president praised the scientific support of the Hungarian government for Egypt, pointing to a recent decision to offer 100 scholarships to Egyptian students to study at Hungarian universities.
Furthermore, Sisi voiced his keenness on fostering cooperation with Hungary in the field of technical education,which is one of the most important pillars meant to achieve growth and development in any country.
