A pilot phase of the moral education curriculum was introduced in 19 public and private schools across the country this week.
The subject was rolled out after directives from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, in July last year.
"Through reinforcing values that have enabled the UAE to become what it is now, and through highlighting our national role models and the remarkable achievements of human history, we hope to present those lessons to future generations," said Sheikh Mohammed.
The subject promotes ethics, personal and community growth, culture and heritage, civic education, and rights and responsibilities.
