Ajman Ruler reshuffles board of trustees of Ajman University AJMAN, 21st December 2014 (WAM) --- H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman has issued Emiri Decree No. 13 of 2014 reshuffling the Board of Trustees of Ajman University of Science & Technology under his chairmanship with Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi as his vice chairman.
The decree appointed Saeed Mohammed Al Raqabani, Abdullah bin Humaid Al Mazrouie, Saeed Abdullah Hareb, Ali bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Abdul Rehman Sultan Al Sharhan, Salim bin Ahmed Abdul Rehman Al Nuaimi, Usama Saeed Salman and Khalid Saeed Salman as members of the university's new Board of Trustees.
The third article of the decree defined the board's responsibilities for implementing the executive policies which are in line with the UAE's policies for higher education and scientific research. Other responsibilities include securing the univeristy's financial resources, approving the university's agreements signed with other parties in and outside the UAE as well as the establishment of new departments, campuses or branches of the university.
The decree states that the board will convene once every academic year, and may convene emergency meetings at the request of its chairman or vice chairman. The quorum of the board is its chairman or vice chairman along with a minimum of half of the board members.
The tenure of the vice chairman and the members of the board is four years and automatically renewable unless a new Emiri decree states otherwise.
Article 8 considers Emiri Decree No. 11 of 2012 null and void.
The decree will be published in the offical gazette of the emirate of Ajman.
