Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Ajman and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ajman University of Science and Technology, AUST celebrated the graduation on Tuesday of the tenth batch of students, under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in its 23rd ceremony since the university launched.
The students were given a grand send off at the event which was attended by H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, and H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi. Also in attendance was Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health, Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qatami, Minister of Education, and Ajman University’s trustees, along with senior public officials, dignitaries and graduates’ families and friends.
Top students were honoured for their remarkable achievements, and guests were welcomed by Osama Salman, Vice President of Ajman University, who highlighted the importance of the day and outlined the great achievements the students have gained along their academic journey.
Meanwhile, the graduation of AUST's 2014 "Thank You Khalifa" class of female graduates was held yesterday in the presence of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Zayed bin Saqr Al Nahyan, wife of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman.
This year’s class was named the "Thank You Khalifa Class" in recognition and appreciation of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During her opening speech, H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Zayed said, "President Sheikh Khalifa has been faithful to the legacy left by the U.A.E. founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed, may Allah rest his soul in peace. A legacy of a proud nation where people prosper in peace, stability and welfare. May Allah perpetuate these blessings and preserve our President and his brothers the Rulers of the Emirates." She continued, "His Highness has placed the utmost importance on improving all social development sectors, education included. He kept showing us in words and deeds that knowledge is the most important pillar of progress and nation building, and that education is the most important pillar of development and youth building. Today education is undergoing an unprecedented growth quantitatively and qualitatively, placing the U.A.E. as a regional hub for international education." Sheikha Fatima congratulated the graduating class, stating that their graduation is just the beginning of a long journey to a professional life full of experiences and discoveries.
"I warmly congratulate my daughters who are graduating today and wish them every success in their professional careers," she said.
