Prof Faisal Abdul Latif Alnasir the Chairman of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the Arabian Gulf University, prepared a training program for senior students at the university on the practical requirements of the family and community medicine program of the Kingdom’s health centers in coordination with the Ministry of Health. Alnasir explained that this training program will contribute in preparing students as experienced doctors in dealing with patients, to enhance the status of family and community medicine. Professor Alnasir also confirmed that recent studies prove that improving this sector will reduce abundant costs on the national economy, pointing out the crucial role of Family and Community Medicine in preventing patients illness from developing on an ongoing basis. “If a Doctor wasn’t trained to cure on Psychological, social and physical basis, he is incapable of dealing with patients sickness and its causes”, Professor Alnasir added. In this context, Alnasir is preparing to appear at the Conference of Family Medicine in Abu Dhabi from 23rd to 25th of October which will take place at the Abu Dhabi Medical National Exhibition. This conference is part of the fifth annual Abu Dhabi Medical Congress which is the only event in the Middle East that brings together all experts on health care of patients safety, ambulatory services, rehabilitation, and basic health care of the scientific and commercial exchange.
