Cairo University has decided to form a consultancy committee of seasoned Egyptian scientists at home and abroad with to provide experienced ideas and strategies that help pushing up the university's scale in the scientific research.
President of Cairo University Gaber Nassar approved the formation of the house of experts includes 15 scientists from home and abroad.
Vice President of the University Dr Gamal Essam said the university aims at benefiting from a variety of experiences of the Egyptian scientists in the development of the university.
The committee will include Farouk El Baz, space scientist and a member of Egypt's presidential advisory council of scientists, Dr Mostafa El Sayyed, Egyptian-American chemical physicist, Dr Handi El Noqrashi, a world energy expert, and Dr Mohammad Al Gamal, chief of the International Federation of Egyptian Expatriates.
From Egypt, the committee includes Dr Mostafa Kamal, a professor in the Faculty of Science, former higher education minister Wael El Degwi, Dr Horiya Tawfiq Megahed, Dr Mohammad Al Shehab and Dr Maha Sayyed El Rabat, Dr Alaa Essam El Shazli and Dr Saad Nassar.
