HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council Dr. Mohammad bin Abdul Wahed al Hammadi will open tomorrow at Qatar National Convention Centre, the 5th Qatar International Exhibition of Universities with the theme: "Towards diversity to stimulate creativity and innovation".
The three-day exhibition aims to enhance the awareness of university students, their parents and academics of the importance and benefits of university education, by bringing them and the officials in charge of acceptance in local and international universities and job sectors responsible for scholarships in the state, together under one umbrella to allow them ask questions and make inquiries relating to university education as well as their academic and professional future, and to learn about terms and requirements of acceptance at the participating universities and the best ways to apply.
It also aims to familiarize students with the procedures followed for obtaining visas to travel, the academic environment and cultural and social context in the countries of those universities. Mentors and experts with competence and professionalism will be on hand to provide counseling services and answer students' questions and inquiries regarding undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
During the exhibition, programmes of scholarships offered by Higher Education Institute of the Supreme Education Council, and conditions and requirements for admission to universities approved by the Council will be explained. This will include the definition of procedures, documents required for the scholarship, academic and university orientation services in place to guide and educate students to choose the right university specialization, explanation of benefits, funds for scholarships and bursaries, and other topics of interest to students and their parents and related to undergraduate and postgraduate education.
