Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development will host an informational session on Sunday, April 26th, for the university’s first undergraduate program, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering at the HBKU Student Center in Education City.
The informational session will provide information on the application process and requirements, the Computer Engineering curriculum, and allow for students and their parents to ask questions. The informational session will be held in Large Conference Room 4 of the HBKU Student Center in Education City from 4:30 to 5:30 pm.
This new undergraduate program will offer an advanced curriculum delivered by expert faculty, an abundance of research, and inspiring senior design projects. Students will be given the opportunity to explore the design of real-world computer engineering systems and get exposed to real-life challenges through a design component that is integrated into the program, as well as through a final year project.
In line with HBKU’s multidisciplinary focus, the program’s dynamic teaching approach will draw on the expert knowledge of its partner institutions alongside its own faculty. Students are able to take courses provided by Texas A&M University at Qatar and Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, in addition to a comprehensive range of course offerings from HBKU.
This approach will provide students with a well-rounded understanding of computer science and electronic engineering; giving them a wide range of skills, and the knowledge needed for them to explore a number of rewarding careers or further study.
Khalifa Al-Salahi, Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator at HBKU, said: "HBKU’s new bachelor’s degree program aims to shape the computer engineers of tomorrow. Students will get the opportunity to explore real-world computer engineering challenges and will be guided and mentored by expert faculty from around the world. We look forward to meeting prospective student applicants and their parents and answering any questions they have while learning about the program".
