The International Indian School, Jeddah, held its graduation ceremony on Friday with the educators and the students reliving their experiences while presenting forward-looking priorities as the students take another crucial step in the journey of life. Enthusiastic graduates in their academic regalia, proud parents, siblings and school staff packed the school auditorium. Consul General of India Faiz Ahmad Kidwai was the chief guest and Kausar Kidwai was the guest of honor. Dr. M.S. Karimuddin, member of the higher board, Khursheed Akhter, chairman, and members of the school managing committee attended. The program began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Master Omer and translation by Hamza Rais. Head Boy Dawood Arif and Head Girl Zainab Salim presented bouquets to the chief guest and the guest of honor respectively. Principal Syed Masood Ahmed welcomed the gathering. He stressed the need for the students to develop moral values and to continue with their quest for learning even after completing their studies. Both the head girl and boy mesmerized the audience with their impressive speeches. Both expressed their gratitude to the teachers and promised to uphold the honor of their alma mater. Karimuddin, who has been associated with the school for nearly three decades, expressed his satisfaction at the growth of the school and announced that a career guidance program would be arranged shortly for the outgoing students. Kidwai said the school is a place where learning meets fun. He advised the students to choose their careers based on their interest. The girls received certificates from Kausar Kidwai while certificates to boys was presented by the consul general. A Powerpoint presentation titled “The Last Lesson” was shown. The presentation highlighted the need to love life, set one’s priorities right, to value people around us and to focus on the real issues and not get distracted by the glitter of the world. Najeeb Qais Ammar, vice principal of Boys Section, proposed the vote of thanks.
