President of Kuwait University (KU) Dr. Abdullatif Al-Bader met Sunday with a visiting student group from National Taiwan University (NTU), in presence of KU's Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Abdulrahim Theyab, and Representative of the Taipei Commercial Representative Office in Kuwait Timothy Hsiang.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Bader, in a press statement, stressed the importance of cultural and student exchanges among countries due to their significant role in enriching students' life on campus on other cultures and nations around the world.
He also praised the spirit of Taiwanese people in their commitment to work ethics in their country, wishing to see Taiwanese students enroll in graduate studies at KU in the future.
For his part, Representative Hsiang expressed joy of the visit by NTU students to Kuwait, which is the second visit by another Taiwanese university to the country, as it helps in boosting cultural and educational cooperation between the two countries.
He also wished the students of NTU, located in Taipei City, Taiwan, best of luck in benefiting from the Kuwaiti academic experience during their stay in the country, and enriching their knowledge and information on Arab and Islamic countries.
Meanwhile, Dr. Al-Theyab said that such visits help in consolidating cultural ties between KU and NTU, noting that the visiting Taiwanese group will be acquainted with KU's services to students, as well as traditions of the Kuwaiti society and the country's main landmarks.
This visit also provides Kuwaiti students and youngsters an opportunity to explore the Taiwanese culture through academic exchanging between them and the visiting Taiwanese students, he added.
