A new university degree meant to help Dubai meet its future economic needs has been launched by Middlesex University Dubai (MUD). The MBA is said to arm graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to meet targets in the Dubai Strategic Plan 2020. The degree has specialisations in Finance, Operations & Logistics, Business Excellence, International Business, and Marketing. MUD Director Raed Awamleh said: "Under the vision and strategic direction of the government, the UAE has witnessed unprecedented growth, which will continue through further diversification into new areas. "The Middlesex MBA has been designed specifically to support the development of professional skills in these areas. This development will enhance business performance and, subsequently, contribute positively to economic prosperity at the micro and macro levels." The coursework includes an international field trip and "hands-on" learning with industry and corporate interactions. There is also a final thesis required to complete the programme. The degree can be completed in one year (full-time) or two years (part-time). The classes are held in the evenings on weekdays. erom / Gulf News
