Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, visited today Zayed University (ZU), in the Academic City in Dubai, where he met with its president and members of the board of trustees.
He was accompanied by H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future, Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, Jameela bint Salem Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education.
Sheikh Mohammed listened to the presentation of Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance and President of ZU, during which she highlighted the 2017-2021 strategy of the university, its objectives and the ways of implanting them.
The strategy of the university revolves over three main objectives: education, scientific research and serving the society. The ZU set 11 chairs for privately funded philanthropic education initiatives in the university, which reached AED70 million to be used mainly in funding students’ researches and their associated activities.
Also present during the presentation were Ahmad Abdullah bin Byat, chairman of Du and member of the board of trustee of the university, and Sami Ahmad Dhaen Al Qamzi , director general, Department of Economic Development of Dubai and member of the board of trustee of the university, along with a number of the university members.
