Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed said that budget has been set aside for the education sector, and stressed the importance of continued cooperation between the public and private sectors during a meeting of the Council of Ministers at Bait Al Barakah Al Amer on Sunday. The Omani leader expressed satisfaction with the developmental efforts aimed at the betterment of the citizens' quality of life, including infrastructure development, which has been receiving more attention. He said the budget for the year covered all requirements for achieving the targets in all sectors. "The education sector has received more attention in the budget to help the sector develop further. This will help it cope with the requirements of the future and to continue the programmes for the development of Omani human resources," he said. He also pointed out that evaluating the progress made in the earlier period will contribute in boosting the performance of the government and create awareness on the development projects taken up by the government and the positive effects of such projects on society. Speaking on international issues, the Sultan hoped that all the countries of the region will see stability and security. He asked the Council of Ministers to take suitable procedures to achieve the national goals.
