Qatar University's (QU) annual summer programme will begin June 23 and end July 4, the university announced Tuesday. The programme called 'Amazing Summer 2013' is organized by the Sports Section of the Student Activities Department, and promises to be a wonderful interlude during the long summer days, QU said. The event is open to members of the QU community as well as the general public, 10 years and over. Activities will be held at QU's Men's Student Activities Building, Men's Water Complex, the Women's Student Activities Building and Women's Sports Hall. Swimming, horse riding, shooting, taekwondo, diving, rowing, sailing, and photography are on the agenda for male participants. Cultural and sporting trips are also on the program of activities. For female participants, activities will include aerobics, swimming, horse riding, shooting, photography, painting, and decoupage. They will also attend workshops to learn Photoshop and Arabic calligraphy, and will take part in cooking courses and cultural and sporting trips. Commenting on the programme, QU Department Head Al Jazzi Al Marri said, "We are pleased to welcome QU members and the wider Qatari community to this annual event which is a popular event on the summer calendar. "It is part of the organization's way of bringing everyone together in the spirit of sharing, fun, and goodwill.
