Saudi Arabia to add medical schools and teaching hospitals

Saudi Arabia plans to build medical schools and teaching hospitals at all 24 of its public universities, Higher Education Minister Khaled Al-Anqari said on Tuesday. The goal is to increase the number of Saudi doctors, reports the Arab News. Saudis make up about 20 percent of the nation’s physicians. A five-year development plan calls for spending about $200-billion on expanding access to schools and universities, including a greater focus on preparing Saudi students for the job market.
