The College of Engineering at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) in collaboration with Heliocentris, the experts in energy efficiency, clean energy and educational training solutions, organized a specialized training workshop for the engineering students titled ‘Green Technology in Our Daily Life: Hydrogen Powered Fuel Cell e-Cars’. The workshop reflects the University’s commitment to supporting a green future in the UAE by integrating sustainable practices in its academic strategy and activities.The main aim of the workshop was to increase the students’ awareness and educates them on green technology applications used in daily life. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Reyadh Almehaideb, College Dean in the presence of Michael Kutschenreuter, General Manager MENA, Heliocentris and other senior members from the University and the company.Dr. Reyadh Almehaideb, said, “Offering our students an international experience is an integral part of our academic strategy. We are dedicated to contributing to the UAE’s leadership vision to create a green economy and thus organizing this workshop is a testament to this. UAEU is looking forward to creating a green generation of future thought leaders.”The seminar provided day-to-day examples and practical advice for students on how the green technology can be integrated in our daily life. In addition, Dr. Claus Fischer, International Sales Director for Asia & Middle East in Heliocentris delivered a presentation on ‘e-car technology based on fuel cells as a key technology of the 21st century' and also spoke about the importance of the training solutions that Heliocentris provides to academic institutions to create a future generation of clean energy experts.In addition, the workshop also featured an exciting training session by, Jens Gilmer, Product Manager, Heliocentris, who demonstrated a hydrogen powered fuel cell e-car. The session witnessed great attention from the participants and offered students a closer look on how e-cars work.
