In statements to KUNA following the function, Head of Kuwaiti Cultural Bureau in the Saudi capital Riyadh Mesfer Al-Mesfer underscored the importance of the around-the-world marine excursion "Journey of Hope" in showing the world Kuwait's experiment in caring for the mentally disabled people.
He pointed out that the sailing trip, which is sponsored by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, reflects Kuwaiti interest in supporting all activities aiming to improve the skills and integrate this important segment into the whole society.
Al-Mesfer said that the function comes within the framework of cooperation among Arab Gulf countries in different domains.
For his part, the University President Abdullah Al-Rabesh welcomed the Kuwaiti guest.
He expressed admiration of the "Journey of Hope" initiative to shed lights on the needs and abilities of the mentally disabled people and help integrate them in the society.
