Moscow State University is preparing for the launch of its fourth satellite, University Rector Viktor Sadovnichy said on Tuesday. “The university plans to launch its already fourth space satellite,” he said. This spacecraft was designed by scientists, professors, students and post-graduate students of Moscow University. “Major research was done to translate this project into life. Efforts of dozens of our specialists were involved,” Sadovnichy marked.The satellite “will help to study the radiation situation close to the Earth, magnetic fields, high-energy space particles,” he said. “Moscow State University is the only university in our country that makes launches of such educational satellites,” he stressed. The first satellite of Lomonosov Moscow State University named Tatiana-1, was launched in 2005 within the framework of events marking the 250th anniversary of the university. Then Tatiana-2 and Mikhailo Lomonosov satellites were placed in orbit.
