Saudi courts registered 21,180 divorce cases last year, local media said.
The Makkah region recorded the highest number of divorce and marriage cases at 2,898 and 3,849, respectively, according to the media.
Riyadh courts registered the highest number of general cases including 4,876 of death proof and inheritance cases out of a total of 29,755 cases and 3,390 support request cases out of 24,500 cases Kingdom-wide, the media said.
The Riyadh region also registered 1,167 underage guardianship cases out of a total of 6,160 cases and received the highest number of life proof cases at 2,287 out of 5,217 cases registered in courts across the Kingdom.
