Iran's first lady Azam Sadat Farrahi warned about the plots hatched by the West to prevent women from wearing Hijab - the Islamic code of dressing - not just in the western communities, but in the world of Islam."The West is scared of Islam, thus some Islamic countries ban the wearing of hijab," Farrahi said. A year ago Azerbaijan banned some Islamic ceremonies, which caused wide wave of protests. It later tried to ban hijab at schools and universities. Following the move, Iranian senior cleric Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi said in an address to Azerbaijani authorities, "We're confident the people of Azerbaijan will not tolerate this situation." "The day will come when you'll be forced to leave your chairs. Learn from the regional developments," he added.
