Dr Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, First Deputy Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), has met Duval Adrien Charles, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Mauritius, on the side-lines of the 133rd IPU Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland.
Al Qubaisi emphasised the importance of strengthening bilateral parliamentary relations, particularly in areas of mutual interests and shared concern at international parliamentary meetings.
The UAE, she stressed, was following a wise, civilised policy in dealing with topics of concern as part of its efforts to maintain security, peace and stability in the region and support international efforts towards that goal.
Charles said economic co-operation plays a significant role in his country's relations with the UAE, noting that the Dubai-based DP World, one of the world's biggest port operators, is currently operating the biggest port in Mauritius.
He also hoped that the UAE would waive entry visa for citizens of Mauritius.
