Social Development Minister Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al-Balooshi received here today the British Youth Justice Agency President Paula Jack and the accompanying delegation, comprising experts in juvenile justice.
The delegation invited the Minister to visit UK in order to attend workshops in the field of juvenile justice and be informed on the British experience, next February.
The Minister accepted the invitation, affirming the participation of a Bahraini delegation, comprising a number of relevant officials.
Article 12 of the Decree Law No. 17/1976 stipulates the admission of a juvenile to a social welfare institution, under the Ministry of Social Development.
The Ministry of Social Development works on establishing a new headquarters for the rehabilitation and care of juveniles from the age of 7-15 years.
The centre that was built according to international scientific specifications, will be run by 14 psychologically and socially qualified specialists.
Assistant Undersecretary for Welfare, Rehabilitation and Training, Dr. Badria Al Jeeb, Director of Public Relations Fatima Mahmoud and Acting Director of the Department of Social Welfare Marwa Kuzbar were present.
