Industry Minister Mounir Fahkry Abdel-Nour has launched the "women’s social and economic empowerment" initiative.
"The initiative aims to empower women as economic agents and bolster their ability to access markets on competitive and equitable terms as well as expanding women's economic contributions," the minister said in a statement on Tuesday.
This will be done through providing women with business skills that help them build sustainable sources of income, he added.
He pointed out that the initiative also includes the "small town project", termed Made in Egypt, to boost jobs and business opportunities for women nationwide.
